Bio
With an energetic stage presence and a passion for Hip-Hop, J.West is ready to make a name for himself in the music industry.
Chicago emcee J.West has always had a love for Hip-Hop but, it wasn’t until after seeing a concert in Chicago that he would write his first rap on the drive home. It was at that moment in time he decided that’s what he wanted to do for the rest of his life.
West would spend hours in his room, working on his craft and eventually releasing his first project titled My Life EP (released September 19, 2014). Shortly after its release, West decided to take the music to a higher level by moving from a small town in Indiana to the city of Chicago. Here he would release his first album titled Destination Famous on March 7, 2017, telling the story of his relentless determination and drive to make it in the music industry. This lead West to be the opening act for artists like KR and Hi-Rez, as well as a small tour that would later be the inspiration for his album Somewhere In America.
Drawing influence from artists such as Logic, Naughty by Nature, and Jay-Z. West has combined his love for old-school rap and biographical lyrics with new school sounds and melodies to make a unique sound that is nostalgic yet modern at the same time.

Somewhere in America (July 16, 2021)
J.West has returned with his second album. After his 2017 album Destination Famous West started to make a name for himself as an artist. This lead West to be the opening act for artists such as KR and Hi-Rez, as well as a tour that would later be the inspiration for his upcoming project.
Throughout his time of touring West had started writing a new project which would eventually become his upcoming project Somewhere in America with each track being written in a different part of America, West found the title to be quite fitting.
With an upbeat single like Warrior lead by synths, kick drums, and claps, West delivers a motivating message of hope and resilience. Then goes on to discuss bad recording contracts in the industry on the albums second single titled Lucy. But also expresses his hesitation of being in a relationship in the albums third single, Intentions.
